I’m Jo, a Psychologist and Coach, and have worked in the mental health and wellbeing field since 2008.

I’ve gone through significant changes in my life, where I felt as though the rug had been pulled out from under me. There were times I was left feeling unsure of my own identity and purpose, and lost in terms of which direction to take.

What helped at these moments was giving myself the time and space to evaluate where I was and where I wanted to be. To think about what I wanted from life, and how I could make it happen.

I never had a coach, but perhaps it was my background in helping others which gave me the knowledge I needed to do it for myself.

I know how it is to want to be happy in life. To live in a way which is true to who you are and what you want. If you want life to change, we’ll work together to get you where you want to be.

This coaching package is for:

  • People who are stuck at a crossroads in life and not sure which direction to take
  • Those who have experienced significant life changes, or have changes ahead which they’d like support with
  • People who want their lives to be different, but aren’t sure where to start

Coaching is a commitment made between the coach and client to collaboratively move the client towards the changes they want to make. Although we’ll do a lot of work together during our sessions, the actual change comes from you and happens outside our sessions.

 Nothing will change unless you take action and implement the changes. So, before you invest in this programme make sure you’re fully committed to change and taking action to get you closer to your goals.

It might feel hard to justify spending time and money to focus on you. If you’re feeling lost or without purpose, you may even wonder whether it’s worth investing in yourself.

What is coaching?

Coaching is a partnership which empowers clients to realise their personal and professional potential. I believe that you are the expert of your own experience and have the answers within you. My role is to use my training and expertise to guide you to those answers and help you move closer towards your goals.

What’s the difference between coaching and therapy?

Coaching is about identifying where you are now, where you’d like to be, and working on how to get there. In contrast, therapy tends to focus more on the past and how it might be stopping you from living and enjoying life in the here and now. In coaching we may identify aspects of your past which are keeping you stuck in the present, but we use these as a guide for how to do things differently and to move forward. If you think therapy is more suited to your needs then please take a look at the therapeutic approaches I offer.

Is coaching for me?

What’s a discovery call?

It’s important that both you and I feel we can work together. The discovery call is your opportunity to discuss what you’d like to work through in your coaching sessions. It’s the chance to see whether you and I are a good “fit” for one another.

Are sessions confidential?

Any information that you discuss may only be shared outside of the sessions in exceptional circumstances. If you disclose that you, or someone known to you, may be at risk of harm then confidentiality cannot be guaranteed. Therefore, this information may need to be shared with a third party. Any disclosures of illegal activities by yourself, or someone you know, will need to be shared with the appropriate agencies.

To maintain ethical practice I attend coaching supervision. Information relating to your sessions may be shared with my supervisor to support me with my practice. These supervision sessions are confidential, within certain limits, and more information is given in my coaching agreement which I ask clients to sign prior to working with me.
